Arrive in Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay! Transfer to your hotel and enjoy some free time to explore the city on your own. Alternatively, consider visiting Colonia de Sacramento or exploring other options listed below. Overnight in Montevideo.
After breakfast, transfer to the bus station for a journey to Montevideo, a charming city on the banks of the RÃo de la Plata. Montevideo is renowned for its picturesque neighborhoods, rich architectural heritage, and the stunning seafront promenade, “La Rambla,” making it one of South America’s most beautiful and popular destinations. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel before starting a city tour to explore Montevideo’s highlights: Independence Square, the Old City, El Prado Neighborhood, the Parliament House, Tres Cruces, Battle Park, and La Rambla for some great photo opportunities. After the tour, enjoy some free time. We recommend trying a local “Chivito” to experience the fantastic local cuisine. Overnight in Montevideo.
After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to one of South America’s most renowned beaches: Punta del Este. This vibrant seaside resort boasts stunning beaches, urban sophistication, continuous entertainment, and the luxury and glamour of the international jet set. We will also visit Piriápolis, including a trip to Cerro San Antonio, Punta Ballena with its Casapueblo, Brava and Mansa beaches, and key neighborhoods such as Hollywood, Maldonado, and downtown. Enjoy some free time to relax on the beach and capture photos of the iconic hand in the sand. Return to Montevideo for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, enjoy free time until your transfer to the airport or bus station. If you’re departing in the afternoon or evening, you might want to visit Colonia de Sacramento or explore other alternatives from our list below.
