IBERA WETLANDS: Outdoors activities to enjoy the nature!

After breakfast, embark on a day full of outdoor adventures to explore the local fauna and flora. Begin with an exciting wildlife watching tour on a motorboat, where you might spot capybaras, alligators, marsh deer, neotropical otters, and over 350 bird species. Our local guide will be with you throughout the journey. Enjoy lunch with a view overlooking the blue lagoon. Afterward, relax at the swimming pool or take some free time. In the afternoon, indulge in a tea service followed by a short trek through the forest along an interpretive path, where our guide will help identify native flora. Continue with more wildlife watching, including howler monkeys, capybaras, and gray brocket deer. Participate in a birdwatching activity. Day 3

IBERA WETLANDS: another day to enjoy the nature!

After breakfast, embark on an excursion by motorboat to explore the Miriñay River’s unique wildlife. This area, wilder and rougher than the previous day’s excursion, is home to larger marsh deer and caimans, including nesting caimans with their eggs during the incubating season. It’s also a prime birdwatching location. Return to Aguapé Lodge for lunch and enjoy some relaxation time at the swimming pool. In the afternoon, choose from various activities:

  • Canoeing Excursions: Join a local guide for a canoeing adventure. Medium-level canoeing explores the west coast of the lake towards the Miriñay spring, with a snack aboard and a return at sunset. High-level canoeing takes you along the “Paso Claro” coast with a stop by the gallery forest, a picnic by the shore, and a sunset return.
  • Bicycle Ride: Explore the area on a mountain bike, riding through Colonia Carlos Pellegrini’s streets, passing old thatched huts, or visiting the Center of Interpretation across the Bayley Bridge, three kilometers from the lodge.

Dinner at Aguapé Lodge, featuring a traditional “asado” (barbecue).

Day 4

IBERA WETLANDS: Good bye nature!

After breakfast, transfer to Posadas for lunch. You may then continue your journey to Iguazu Falls or be transferred to Posadas Airport.
