Santa Teresa, Lapa, and Cinelândia with Tram Ride
Learn about some of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic locations by taking a tram trip over the Lapa Aqueduct (“Arcos da Lapa”) from Downtown to Santa Teresa. Then, stop by the Ruins Park, Selarón Steps, Passeio Pblico, Cinelândia, and Confeitaria Colombo.
Start your tour at Downtown (“Centro”), from which you will take the tram (“bondinho”) to Santa Teresa, a bohemian district. One of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic postcards, the Arcos da Lapa is an aqueduct that carries water from Santa Teresa to Downtown.
Walk along the bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa, a rural area located on a hillside. Due to its distinctive architecture and desirable location, Santa Teresa has developed into a neighborhood of cultural relevance.
You will go to the Ruins Park, a public park with an art gallery built around the ruins of a mansion (closed on Mondays). Spend a moment admiring the surroundings of the city, the Downtown area, and the Sugarloaf Mountain. Next, you will descend the vibrant Selarón Steps, a famous landmark in Rio.
To get to Cinelândia, a popular area in Rio de Janeiro, thanks to its clubs, restaurants, and cultural attractions, take a stroll through Passeio Público, the continent’s first public park and the oldest in the region.
Your final destination will be Confeitaria Colombo, which is always listed among the world’s “must-see cafés” (closed on Sundays).

Yes, pick up and drop off included. Pick-up and drop-off from hotels in Rio de Janeiro’s South Zone (Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Leme) and West Zone (Barra da Tijuca); if pick-up is not possible at your location, you will be sent to the closest pick-up spot.
