Full Day Tour in Rio: Christ by Train, Sugarloaf & BBQ Lunch
Start your day with pick-up from selected hotels in Rio de Janeiro’s South Zone, including Copacabana, Leme, Ipanema, and Leblon, or from the West Zone, including Barra da Tijuca. Pick-up begins before the official tour start time, and passengers not staying at one of the beachfront hotels will be informed of the closest meeting and return point.
Your first stop will be Cosme Velho Station, where you will board the Corcovado Train. The train ride through the tropical forest takes around 20 minutes from the base station to the top of Corcovado Mountain, where you will visit Christ the Redeemer, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
After returning to sea level, continue with a panoramic external visit to the legendary Maracanã Stadium. Then, visit the Sambadrome, the famous setting of Rio’s Carnival, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, a modern structure inspired by Mayan pyramids.
The tour also includes a stop at the colorful Selarón Steps, one of Rio de Janeiro’s most recognizable landmarks. After this city tour section, continue to a churrascaria for a buffet-style barbecue lunch.
In the afternoon, head to Sugarloaf Mountain, located in the Urca neighborhood. Take two cable cars, first to Urca Hill and then to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain, reaching 395 meters above sea level. From the top, enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro before returning to one of the hotels near the city’s famous beaches.
