As you can see, the October to March range is a warm period, with maximum temperatures in Torres del Paine over 17 degrees (Celcius). And it´s good because, for trekking activities and outdoor activities, winter can be cold. Note that June and July, and also August register temperatures under 0 degrees (celsius).  Another important point here is the daylight and sunshine length. Again, it´s important to have a long day, to enjoy the wonderful trekking activities.  Warm, but no so warm, as you can see maximum reach 18-20 degrees celsius.

As you can see, again October to March period is the best season with at least 14 hours of daylight, with a maximum in November, December, January and Februrary months. It´s very recommendable to have plenty of time to enjoy nature and outdoor activities like hiking. There are many different circuits. Some of them are very famous like W Circuit or O Circuit. Wintertime, only offers 8-9 hours of daylight, so outdoor activities are reduced. You can get up early, and enjoy your activities from the morning. It´s very very important.

Rains in Torres del Paine

Finally, what can we say about rain in Torres del Paine? Well, definitely rain is not a problem, it´s not a rainy place. During the summer season, you can have 4-5 rainy days, maybe 7 during December which is the summer month with more rains. And May is the month with more rains in the year:

So, what´s the best time to explore Torres del Paine? Definitely from October to March, as happens with the rest of Patagonia. These months are part of the high season to visit Patagonia. Perfect for hiking activities. There are many hiking trails, like the Base de las Torres for example. The daylight is a strong reason because outdoor activities are longer. Please note, the spring is awesome, and also the autumn. So, September (spring) and April (fall) are also a good idea, because it´s still good and prices are definitely lower during the shoulder season. And you avoid crowds and a lot of people in the park.

And what about snow? Well, you will find snow during June, July, and August in the area. But it´s not a great place to enjoy snow sports or winter sports. People usually do not travel to the area in winter. It´s the low season in Torres del Paine.  So, the best season for all of this is October to March months, definitely, it´s the best option.

Finally, what about winds? Winds in Patagonia are usual in the summer, but it´s part of the place. It´s not a problem, enjoy the wonderful winds that come from the Pacific Ocean and go directly to the Andes chain. It´s part of the adventure and the landscape.
