How to get to Salta?

Salta is the gate to visit Train to the Clouds, Humahuaca Canyon, the Salt Flats, the Calchaquies Valleys and many other great attractions in the area. You can arrive by air, but also but land in a car or bus service:

Arriving to Salta by air

You can arrive to Salta by air. The airport El Aybal receive many different flights from Buenos Aires and other important cities in Argentina: Cordoba, Jujuy and Tucumán. Although in these cases the frequencies are not daily and tend to vary according the season. The airport “El Aybal” is located 9 kilometers from the city, through the Route Nº 51. A public Bus service exists transporting to downtown.

Arriving to Salta by land

You can arrive to Salta by land, in one of the different bus companies that link the city with many other important cities in Argentina. Some of most important ones are: “La veloz del norte”, “La Internacional”, “Flecha Bus”, “Andesmar”.  The trip from Buenos Aires takes approximately 20 hours, as it`s located 1600 km of distance.  If you arrive by car, different routes connect Salta with the main cities of the country. From Buenos Aires, there are two alternatives for reaching Salta Route N° 9: starting from ‘La Panamericana’ and  Route N° 34: in this case- Buenos Aires, Rosario,  Tucumán and finally, Salta.
