Itinerary

On Day 1, your adventure starts from Ollantaytambo (2792 meters), where you’ll travel by land from Cusco and make a stop for some shopping. Afterward, you’ll start the trek from the Piscacucho community at kilometer 82, following the snow-capped Veronica Mountain and Urubamba River for a scenic 3-hour walk. You will arrive at the Llaqtapata archaeological site, break for lunch, and continue to Huayllabamba (3000 meters) for the night.

Day 2 begins with an energizing breakfast, preparing you for the ascent to Warmiwañusca Pass (4215 meters), the highest point of the trek. As you reach the top, the view of the Vilcabamba and Vilcanota ranges will take your breath away. After a descent, you’ll have lunch in Llulluchapata and camp at Pacaymayo (3600 meters), after completing the most challenging day of the trek.

On Day 3, the trail introduces fascinating Inca ruins like Sayaqmarca and Conchamarca. After a well-deserved lunch at the Phuyupatamarca site, surrounded by terraces, you’ll continue to Wiñaywayna, an ancient agricultural site close to Machu Picchu, where you’ll set up camp for the night.

The final day begins early, climbing to the Inti Punku (2745 meters), the iconic gateway to Machu Picchu. After soaking in the spectacular view, you’ll continue to the citadel for a guided tour of this ancient wonder. The adventure concludes with a bus ride back to Agua Calientes, where you’ll catch your train to Ollantaytambo.

Individual Cancellation (1-9 passengers)

42+ days before arrival: 10% of deposits
41-32 days before arrival: 30% of invoice value
31-17 days before arrival: 50% of invoice value
16 days or less: 100% of invoice value

No Show

If you cancel the service or do not show up, an additional 18% VAT will be charged on the corresponding service fees.

What happens after booking?

After booking and finalizing payment, you will receive a confirmation for your purchase. Then, in less than 24 hours, you will receive the voucher that you can use to take the excursions.

If the reservation is for the next day, we will be attentive and we will send you the voucher before your excursion begins.

What should I bring for the trek?

Bring lightweight clothing, comfortable trekking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a camera to capture the stunning views.

Are there any restrictions for the trek?

Yes, the trek is for individuals in good physical condition. Pregnant women and individuals with certain health conditions may not be able to participate.
