Your adventure begins in the afternoon with pick-up from your accommodation in Puerto Madryn. You will travel to Estancia El Pedral, located in the Natural Wildlife Refuge of Punta Ninfas, home to a thriving colony of Magellanic penguins.
As the sun begins to set, the cliffs and sea turn golden. Penguins return from the ocean, meet their partners, and tend to their nests. At this time of the season, pairs incubate their eggs and in November the first chicks start hatching. During summer you may observe young penguins exploring their surroundings before they head to the sea around March. Every stage of the cycle offers a different scene to photograph and enjoy.
A bilingual guide will lead you through the colony, sharing information about their behavior and habitat. After the visit, you will enjoy an abundant Patagonian snack with empanadas, homemade breads, hummus, olives, and traditional humita, paired with unlimited wine or beer. Non alcoholic options such as sodas and flavored water are also available. This moment is enjoyed facing the ocean if the weather allows, right when the last light of the day transforms the landscape with warm tones.
