Your adventure begins at 9:00 AM at our base in El Chaltén (Av. San Martín 872). After check-in, our bilingual guides will provide all the necessary technical and safety gear. Based on your kayaking experience, you’ll be assigned either a double sit-on-top or a single touring kayak.
Once everyone is ready, you’ll head out on a 40-minute scenic drive along RP41 to the Mirador Laguna Cóndor, where the kayaking portion begins. After a final gear check and safety briefing, you’ll launch into the Río de las Vueltas around 10:00 AM. The route covers 12 kilometers of calm, shallow water winding through lush Andean forest, with breathtaking views of Mount Fitz Roy.
You’ll paddle for approximately 1.5 hours, arriving at Estancia Bonanza by around 11:30 AM. A support vehicle will be waiting with your belongings so you can change into dry clothes. Guests who choose the lunch option will enjoy a traditional Patagonian meal, featuring dishes like roasted lamb or Curanto, with sides, dessert, and a drink — all with a stunning mountain backdrop.
If you opt out of lunch, you’ll return to El Chaltén shortly after arrival, reaching town by 1:00 PM. Those staying for lunch will return later, arriving back at around 3:30 PM.

This tour operates on December 24th and 31st, however, it is not available on December 25th and January 1st.
Participants must be at least 12 years old to join this activity, and those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The Chaltén Kayak experience is generally not recommended for people with reduced mobility. The activity requires participants to be able to move and maneuver in a kayak, which can be physically demanding, especially in the more technical sections of the river.
This tour has a cancellation policy of up to 72 hours before the activity.
After booking and finalizing payment, you will receive a confirmation for your purchase. Then, in less than 24 hours, you will receive the voucher that you can use to take the excursions.
If the reservation is for the next day, we will be attentive and we will send you the voucher before your excursion begins.
If the weather conditions are not safe for kayaking, the activity may be postponed or canceled. Our team will assess the situation and inform participants in advance. If the activity is canceled, we will offer alternative dates or a full refund.
Yes! The Chaltén Kayak experience is suitable for beginners. The activity is designed for those with no prior kayaking experience, and our guides provide a thorough safety briefing and instructions to ensure everyone feels comfortable.

Once you’ve completed your booking and payment, you’ll receive a confirmation of your purchase. Within 24 hours, you’ll receive the voucher you’ll need to participate in the excursions.
