How to get to Bariloche?

San Carlos de Bariloche, usually known as Bariloche, is one of the most important cities in Rio Negro Province, Patagonia; and it`s one of the most important destinations in the area of the lakes district. You can arrive by land, by air, and also along a boat navigation from Chile. Take a look to the options available to reach Bariloche and enjoy this unique area full of lakes, national parks, forests and mountains:

 

Arriving to Bariloche by air

Of course, if you`re an internatoinal traveller, you probably will arrive to Bariloche by air. There are several flights per week during all the year. Flights arrives from Bariloche, Cordoba, Iguazu Falls and from some other cities in Patagonia like El Calafate.  The airport called Teniente Luis Caldelaria is located 13 km from the city of Bariloche.

 

Arriving to Bariloche by land

Bariloche is located 1600 km from Buenos Aires, so it`s possible to drive along a full day (or may be two) and arrive to this unique city of Patagonia. You also can arrive by land from other cities in Patagonia, like Puerto Madryn, El Calafate, or from Chile. There are several bus lines that offers regular trips to this city.

 

Arriving to Bariloche by lake

It`s  possible to arrive to Bariloche from Chile, via the incredible Lakes Crossing. It`s a full day (or two-day) trip from Puerto Varas, crossing the Andes by lake and land. It`s a combination of boat navigations and bus rides to reach Bariloche by lake. Arrival is to Puerto Pañuelo, located 27 km from the city centre. May be the best way to arrive to Bariloche if you`re in Chile.
