Chañaral de Aceituno Whale Watching Tour – Full Day
The excursion begins with hotel pick-up in La Serena or Coquimbo, followed by a journey north to Chañaral de Aceituno, a coastal village located along the edge of the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve.
From the local pier, participants board a shared boat navigation that lasts approximately 2.5 hours, exploring open waters in search of marine wildlife.
During the navigation there is the opportunity to observe fin whales, humpback whales, and blue whales, along with other marine species such as sea lions, marine otters, penguins, and seabirds. The area is known for its rich marine ecosystem and offers excellent opportunities for wildlife observation.
After returning to the mainland, the experience continues with lunch at a rustic local restaurant, where dishes prepared with regional products are served.
Before returning to La Serena, the tour includes a stop along the road where visitors may observe terrestrial wildlife, including chilla foxes, donkeys, and llamas.
At the end of the day, transportation returns travelers to La Serena or Coquimbo, concluding the experience with hotel drop-off.
