Your journey begins with an early pick-up from your hotel in Puerto Madryn. Heading east toward Peninsula Valdés, you’ll travel through open Patagonian steppe and along the San José Gulf coastline. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the region’s artisanal fishing practices and the local ecosystems.
Upon arrival at Puerto Pirámides, you’ll have the option to join a whale watching tour (not included) in ideal low-traffic hours to maximize your chances of a peaceful, awe-inspiring encounter with southern right whales.
Next, depending on the best wildlife viewing opportunities, your group will visit either Caleta Valdés or Punta Norte, home to sea lions and elephant seals. Your guide will help you observe and interpret the behavior of these incredible marine mammals.
Afterwards, continue to Estancia San Lorenzo, where you’ll explore a thriving colony of Magellanic penguins. This visit includes a short walk through the colony’s natural environment.
During the day, a complete brunch-style box lunch with mineral water is provided to keep you energized.
The return trip to Puerto Madryn begins in the afternoon, arriving back in the city shortly after 6:30 PM.

No, the whale watching tour in Puerto Pirámides is optional and must be purchased separately on-site.
The tour lasts approximately 11 hours and covers around 400 km in total.

Once you’ve completed your booking and payment, you’ll receive a confirmation of your purchase. Within 24 hours, you’ll receive the voucher you’ll need to participate in the excursions.
