Meeting Time – 9:45 AM / 2:15 PM
The adventure begins at our operational base on Av. San Martín 872 in El Chaltén. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure to check in and get fitted with your rafting gear.
Activity Start – 10:00 AM / 2:30 PM
Following a short welcome and introduction, participants receive their technical and safety equipment. Once everyone is ready, a short vehicle transfer takes the group a few blocks to the launch point on the Río de las Vueltas.
Safety Briefing & Warm-Up – 10:15 AM / 2:45 PM
At the river’s edge, the guide conducts a thorough safety briefing, explaining how to use the paddle, follow commands, and coordinate as a team. The group then begins paddling through calm waters — ideal for practicing techniques while soaking in the views.
Rafting Journey – 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM / 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
The full route covers approximately 16 km. The first section (6 km) features gentle currents winding through scenic Andean forest, offering stunning views of Mount Fitz Roy and chances to spot native wildlife.
In the second half, the river narrows into a canyon and picks up speed — a 10 km stretch packed with about 20 exhilarating Class III to III+ rapids. It’s an action-filled ride with plenty of thrills and unforgettable moments.
Post-Rafting Snack – 12:30 PM / 5:00 PM
At the end point near the RP23 concrete bridge, participants are welcomed with a comforting snack — hot tea or coffee and a sweet or savory bite to enjoy while recounting the experience.
Return to Base – 1:00 PM / 5:30 PM
Our vehicle will take you back to the operational base in El Chaltén. Once there, you’ll have time to change, relax, and reflect on your Patagonian rafting adventure.

Yes, Chaltén Rafting is available on those dates, with adjusted departure times:
December 24: Morning departure only (10:00 AM)
December 25: Afternoon departure only (2:30 PM)
December 31: Morning departure only (10:00 AM)
January 1: Afternoon departure only (2:30 PM)
The minimum age is 12 years old. Participants aged 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

This tour has a 72 hour cancellation policy.
After booking and finalizing payment, you will receive a confirmation for your purchase. Then, in less than 24 hours, you will receive the voucher that you can use to take the excursions.
If the reservation is for the next day, we will be attentive and we will send you the voucher before your excursion begins.
Just bring a swimsuit to wear under the wetsuit, a towel, and a change of clothes for after the activity. All rafting gear is provided.
Hotel pick-up and drop-off are not included, but can be added as an optional service.
Just complete the booking form. When you finish will be redirected to Paypal where you can pay the tour. You can pay without an account and with your credit card. 
Once you’ve completed your booking and payment, you’ll receive a confirmation of your purchase. Within 24 hours, you’ll receive the voucher you’ll need to participate in the excursions.
If you’ve booked an excursion for the following day, don’t worry. We’ll make sure to send you the voucher before the excursion begins.
