Excursion to Pomaire and Pablo Neruda`s House
At 8:00 a.m. we will pick you up from your hotel in Santiago de Chile. From there we will go to the Chilean coast to visit Isla Negra. In this charming town in the ValparaÃso region, we will visit Pablo Neruda’s favorite house. Figureheads, replicas of sailboats, boats in bottles, seashells, sperm whale teeth … All the objects in this house hide some meaning in the poetry of the Nobel Prize for Literature.
After learning the secrets of Neruda’s last refuge, we will go to the back of the house, where the remains of the poet and his muse, Matilde Urrutia, rest on a cliff with “views” of the sea.
Next, we will leave Isla Negra and head to the small town of Pomaire, famous for its pottery craftsmen. Here we will learn everything about clay crafts and we will admire the reddish-toned ceramic pieces with a smooth and shiny surface. In addition, we will give you time to eat on your own in one of the restaurants in town.
To end the tour with the best taste in your mouth, we will visit Viña Undurraga, a winery with a lot of history. These pioneers of Chilean viticulture have been dedicating their lives to the production of wine for more than 130 years. And we will have the opportunity to taste their wines.
Finally, we will take you back to your hotel in Santiago de Chile, where we will arrive at 4:00 p.m.
