Full Moon Walking Tour in Iguazu Falls

What is The Full Moon Walking Tour in Iguazu Falls, Argentina?

As you probably already know, Iguazu Falls is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, making it a must-see destination in South America. However, there is a special show that nature offers just five days each month that is truly unforgettable: the Moonlight Walking Tour in Iguazu Falls during the full moon period. This show is a wonder of nature and a unique spectacle that you won’t want to miss.

The full moon brings with it a color change that is absolutely incredible, and it’s a phenomenon that repeats monthly. Regardless of the season, from twilight until late at night, the moon provides an amazing display that inspires prose, verses, and serenades, and it’s eagerly awaited by anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature. Each month, visitors gather at the platform of Central Station to board the Ecological Train of the Jungle, which takes them to the Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo), the most significant waterfall in the park.

As you journey through the jungle, the moon accompanies you, casting a magical glow on everything around you and causing the waters of the Upper Iguazu River to shine like drops of silver. The sound of your footsteps on the catwalks leading to the Devil’s Throat can be heard over the stillness and peacefulness of the night. This fascination with the night walk is fully justified since the scenes recorded during the walk are nothing short of curious. Some visitors meditate in the moon’s light, while others renew their commitments of love. It’s easy to become overwhelmed with emotion, and even shed a tear when appreciating the waterfall of Devil’s Throat from such a unique perspective.

The moonlit balcony is a place where time passes unnoticed, and words become useless. It’s an experience that is difficult to put into words, and the return journey is equally unforgettable. While you may try to capture photos of this amazing show, it’s not easy without the right equipment. So, let me suggest that you simply enjoy watching this amazing show of nature, and put aside poetry and fascination for a moment to focus on the details of the activity.

Full Moon Walking Tour: Itinerary

The tour is available throughout the year, for five days each month, depending on the lunar calendar. The difficulty level is low, so you won’t encounter any problems during the tour. It’s important to note that the park offers wheelchairs for disabled individuals, but you need to book them in advance.

The tour starts with a pick-up from your hotel at 7:30 AM, and it ends around 11:30 PM to midnight, with drop-off at your hotel. It’s a truly incredible experience that you won’t forget, so make sure to bring your camera!

The tour begins at your hotel in Puerto Iguazu or Foz de Iguazu, where a car will pick you up and take you directly to the Iguazu Falls National Park, located on the Argentinian side of the falls (Parque Nacional Iguazu in Spanish). Once you arrive, our driver will assist you in getting your pre-confirmed tickets to start the tour.

During the tour, you’ll take the Ecological Train of the Jungle, disembark, and walk the trails to visit the Devil’s Throat under the moonlight (the option with dinner is no longer available). After the tour is finished, the driver will be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel.

If you’re staying in Foz de Iguazu, don’t worry! We can pick you up from there as well.
