El Chalten is a small village, located only 214 km from El Calafate, the most important destination in the area. Both, are locaeted in the province of Santa Cruz in the Argentine Republic, in the southern region of Patagonia. Arriving to El Chalten by air

If you want to visit El Chalten, the closest airport is the Armando Tola in El Calafate, located 250 km from El Chaltén. The flights arrive from Buenos Aires, on direct flights of approximately 3 hours but also from connections from Ushuaia and Bariloche. The airlines that operate with El Calafate are Aerolíneas Argentinas.

Arriving to El Chalten by land

There are several bus lines that goes from El Calafate to El Chalten and viceversa. You also can arrive by car. Distance from El Calafate to El Chalten is 214 km.
You also can arrive from Puerto Natales in Chile, via El Calafate. It`s a very common route used by the international tourism.
