Magellan Strait Park & Bulnes Fort Half-Day Tour
The tour begins with hotel pick-up in Punta Arenas, heading south along a scenic coastal route toward the historic Strait of Magellan. As you leave the city behind, the landscape opens into vast Patagonian plains with views of the sea that once guided explorers and settlers.
Upon arrival at the Magellan Strait Park, you will visit the interpretation center to learn about the early expeditions, indigenous presence, and strategic importance of this passage. The journey continues to Fort Bulnes, a reconstructed 19th-century fort that marks the first Chilean settlement in the region. Here, your guide will share stories about the challenges of life in this remote frontier.
The experience also includes time to enjoy short walks and viewpoints overlooking the Strait, offering excellent photo opportunities and a deeper connection to the natural surroundings. Before returning to Punta Arenas, you will pass by Puerto del Hambre, another significant historical site linked to early colonization attempts.
The tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel in Punta Arenas.
