Magdalena Island Penguin Ferry Tour from Punta Arenas
Check-in and Departure: Meet at the designated point in Punta Arenas before the scheduled departure time. Board the Yaghan ferry and begin navigation through the Strait of Magellan.
During the crossing, your guide will share insights about the region’s maritime history and ecological importance. Keep an eye out for seabirds and marine life along the way.
Arrival at Isla Magdalena: Step ashore at the natural monument and follow designated paths with your guide to observe the large colony of Magellanic penguins in their protected habitat. You will also see the historic lighthouse that marks this iconic location.
Enjoy time at the island to take photos, learn about the penguins’ breeding behavior, and appreciate the unique coastal scenery.
Return to Punta Arenas: After the visit, board the ferry for the return journey. On clear days you may glimpse additional wildlife as you cross the strait back to the city.

This tour is not fully accessible. The visit to Magdalena Island involves walking on uneven terrain and boarding the ferry without specialized accessibility infrastructure. Travelers with reduced mobility should contact us in advance to evaluate individual needs.

Absolutely. Guests are encouraged to bring a camera to capture wildlife and landscapes.
Wear warm, layered clothing and sturdy shoes. A windproof jacket, hat, and sunscreen are recommended; conditions in Patagonia can change quickly.

Once you’ve completed your booking and payment, you’ll receive a confirmation of your purchase. Within 24 hours, you’ll receive the voucher you’ll need to participate in the excursions.
If you’ve booked an excursion for the following day, don’t worry. We’ll make sure to send you the voucher before the excursion begins.
