Elqui Valley Day & Night Experience
The excursion begins with hotel pick-up in La Serena or Coquimbo, followed by a journey toward the foothills of the Andes Mountains and into the Elqui Valley. The first stop is the Puclaro Reservoir, where visitors can admire the scenery and take photographs of the surrounding landscape.
The tour continues to Vicuña, where participants walk around the Plaza de Armas and observe some of the city’s most recognizable buildings.
Next, the route leads to Villaseca, known for its solar kitchens, where lunch is served at a local restaurant. After lunch, the journey continues through the valley to the Cerro Pachón viewpoint, offering panoramic views that combine semi-arid terrain with cultivated green areas.
The next stop is Montegrande, birthplace of Gabriela Mistral, where visitors explore the School House Museum and learn about the life and legacy of the Nobel Prize–winning poet.
The tour then continues to a pisco distillery, where the production process is explained and participants enjoy a guided tasting, followed by a visit to the village of Pisco Elqui.
Later in the afternoon, the group returns to Vicuña for dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner, the experience continues at an astronomical center, where visitors observe the night sky through telescopes under favorable viewing conditions.
At the end of the observation session, transportation returns travelers to La Serena or Coquimbo, concluding the experience with hotel drop-off.
Important: Museums and public buildings are closed on Mondays.
