The excursion begins with hotel pick-up in La Serena or Coquimbo, followed by a drive south toward Fray Jorge National Park, home to the only hydrophilic forest in the Coquimbo Region. Visitors take part in a guided walk of just over one kilometer, where a Valdivian-type forest coexists with a semi-arid landscape.
The journey then continues to the colonial village of Barraza, which preserves architectural traditions dating back to the 19th century. Here, travelers enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, known for its traditional cuisine and relaxed atmosphere.
During the afternoon, the tour proceeds to the Valle del Encanto Natural Monument, an archaeological site featuring petroglyphs, pictographs, cup stones, and other remains linked to pre-Hispanic cultures such as the Molle culture, with evidence of human presence dating back to approximately 2000 BC.
As evening approaches, the experience continues at Hacienda Santa Cristina, located in the Limarí Valley, where participants enjoy dinner in a natural setting.
After dinner, the journey continues to an astronomical center within the Fray Jorge Starlight Reserve, where visitors observe the night sky through telescopes under conditions free from light pollution. The observation combines both scientific and cultural perspectives of astronomy.
At the end of the experience, transportation returns travelers to La Serena or Coquimbo, concluding the tour with hotel drop-off.
