Full-Day 4×4 Adventure to the Atacama Dunes
The experience begins with hotel pick-up in Copiapó, followed by a drive north toward Route N°1, the starting point of the off-road section of the tour.
Upon arrival, the vehicle tires are deflated for sand driving, and participants receive a basic briefing on desert driving techniques before entering the dunes.
The route crosses remote desert landscapes, passing by the San José Mine and other locations related to the region’s mining history.
During the journey, the group stops for a snack and later a box lunch, while continuing through the Atacama dune fields along routes once used during the Dakar Rally.
In the afternoon, the excursion reaches Medanoso Dune, the highest dune in Chile, where travelers can enjoy the views, take photographs, and learn about the area’s geographical and historical context.
After the visit, the group returns to Copiapó, concluding the experience with hotel drop-off.
