The 2016 circuit of the Train to the Clouds includes departure by vehicle from the city of Salta, traveling along with the RN 51 the towns of Campo Quijano and Gobernador Solá until reaching the El Alfarcito place where a country breakfast is planned with local products made by the communities of the area. There is an operational center of the Alfarcito Foundation, whose work reaches 25 communities in the area, and the Mountain Shelter School, which is attended by 154 boys and has tourism orientation.
Then the trip will continue through the Quebrada de las Cuevas and then the Muñano plain to reach San Antonio de los Cobres.
There, the contingent will go to the Train Station where the travelers will board the Train to the Clouds that will take them to the La Polvorilla Viaduct. The journey will take one hour to the Viaduct, at 4,200 meters above sea level, where the most impressive engineering work of the last century is crossed. After 30 minutes, the return to San Antonio de Los Cobres begins where passengers will board the buses again to return to the city of Salta.
During the return, the last stop will be made in Santa Rosa de Tastil, the area of ​​influence of the Qhapaq ñan in the Province of Salta and the administrative center of Quebrada del Toro. There they can visit the Site Museum and buy different handicrafts and local products at the Community Artisan Center. After the visit, the return will continue to the city of Salta.
