Kayak Tour in Perito Moreno Glacier

The Perito Moreno Kayak experience begins with free exploration. First, you will be able to take in the sights and sounds of the breathtaking site as you walk through the footbridge and gawk at the incredible viewpoints along the way. Then you will head to Perito Moreno Kayak Experience’s Meeting Point, located near the main parking area, where our team will greet and brief you.

You will be welcomed into our Operations Area, where you will get dressed in state-of-the-art gear as our guides give you a rundown as well as an in-depth safety briefing. No past kayaking experience is necessary. Our kayak experts will explain how to paddle among the astounding glacial waters.

Once prepared and briefed we depart, with kayaks in hand, to Los Templanos beach. We will paddle down towards the glacier so that it is facing us the whole time. We will stop for our postcard picture moment and learn more fun facts about the fascinating Perito Moreno area in Patagonia.

Do not worry if you have no kayak experience, our guides will teach you how to move safely within the astonishing glacial waters.

The Activity

The day begins at 8:00 am with a hotel pick-up in El Calafate. After traveling 74 km, you’ll arrive at Los Glaciares National Park at approximately 9:30 am.

At 10:00 am, you’ll meet the guides at the lower parking area of the glacier. Here, you’ll be equipped with professional gear, including Gore-Tex dry suits, thermal clothing, life jackets, gloves, and boots. After a brief safety orientation and warm-up exercises by the lake, you’ll begin paddling in front of the breathtaking Perito Moreno Glacier.

For 1.5 hours, glide across the serene waters, marveling at the glacier’s towering walls and pristine surroundings. After kayaking, return to the meeting point to enjoy warm beverages and snacks.

The adventure continues with 2 hours of free time to explore the park’s walkways, offering spectacular viewpoints of the glacier.

Finally, return to El Calafate in the afternoon, concluding your memorable day of exploration.

• Kayaking time: 1.5 hours (duration may vary depending on weather conditions).
• Minimum age required: 14 years old. Participants between 14 and 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
• Cancellation policy: The activity may be canceled by the guides if weather conditions are considered unsafe.
• No prior kayaking experience is necessary.
• Double kayaks are used for added stability.
