Secrets of Salar de Pedernales – Full-Day Salt Flats Tour
The experience begins with hotel pick-up in Copiapó, followed by a drive toward Salar de Pedernales, located approximately 120 km from Diego de Almagro and 260 km from Copiapó.
Upon arrival, participants explore several areas of the salt flat and nearby lagoons, following a full-day extended itinerary that allows time to appreciate the surrounding landscapes.
During the visit, travelers walk along a 45-minute trail across the salt flat, discovering places such as the Ruins of Puquios, Vega San Andrés, and Salar de Maricunga. The region is surrounded by volcanic formations and landscapes rarely seen elsewhere in northern Chile.
Throughout the excursion, participants enjoy a snack and a box lunch, while also having opportunities to observe wildlife such as flamingos, lizards, guanacos, and vicuñas.
After completing the exploration, the group returns to Copiapó, concluding the tour with hotel drop-off.
