ITINERARY DAY BY DAY

Arrival at Puno – Sillustani and Lake Umayo

You will arrive in the city of Juliaca and then be driven to the city of Puno.

Along the way, you will stop 34 km north of Puno at the Sillustani archeological site, famous for its “chullpas”, circular stone burial towers. They are 12 meters high and were used by the Collas and the Incas. The site is located on the shores of Lake Umayo, the scenery of which only intensifies the beauty of this mystical, lovely place.

Lake Titicaca – Uros floating islands and Taquile Island

Get ready for a full day excursion on Lake Titicaca, world’s highest navigable lake. First, you will sail to the floating Uros Islands. The Uros people are known as the “People of the Lake”, and the islands were built out of reeds that grow about the lake called totora. They also built their houses using the same construction material. Following this unusual destination, you venture off to Taquile Island, where you will experience the islanders’ customs and traditions, their colorful outfits that follow the designs of their ancestors, and the local art.

* Upon request, it is possible to extend the excursion to include nearby islands, like Amantani and to stay at one of the houses of an islander who offers this service.

At the scheduled time, you will be taken to the airport for your flight to
your next destination.
