WEATHER IN USHUAIA, ARGENTINA

Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, gate to visit Beagle Channel, Tierra del Fuego National Park and Train of the End of the World, the starting point for cruises to Cape Horn and Antarctica… But, how is the weather there? You have to know that Ushuaia, is the Capital of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica, and Southern Atlantic Islands, and it is located 54º 48´58´´ south latitude, has special characteristics in temperatures, humidity, rain, and daylight. Take a look at some important information to know more about the weather in Ushuaia, and what to expect when you travel to this amazing city in southern Patagonia:

TEMPERATURES IN USHUAIA CITY

Ushuaia is located over the Ushuaia Bay, part of the Beagle Channel. And surrounded on the west, east, and north by the Andes Chain. So, Ushuaia is the only city in Argentina located on the “other side of the Andes”. Now, as it`s located on the ocean (and we have to remember that Tierra del Fuego is an island), and also in the southern portion of Patagonia, temperatures are moderated by the ocean. Check below-average temperatures in Celcius all the year long:

As you can see, during May, June, July, and August, minimum temperatures are below zero. And these are average temperatures. Of course, the high season is from October to March, when temperatures are perfect for visits. During the winter season, Ushuaia is open for ski season in Cerro Castor and other nordic ski centers.

Well, it`s an important point. Why? well, as Ushuaia is located very south of the globe, daylights during summer are one of the best in South America. And during winter, daylight is very short. Take a look to the graphic below:
