Come and spend a perfect day with us, in our small rafts we pack tons of fun in these big volume class III and IV rapids. From the water, we will spot 4 volcanoes: Osorno, Calbuco, Puntiagudo, and Yates as we paddle along this 13 kilometers ride. Flowing through the first National park created in Chile (back in 1926) the Petrohue is one of the best run in Chile. Big crystal clear waves in a stunning landscape, suitable for a wide range of paddling enthusiasts. Meet your guide at your hotel in Puerto Varas and hope in our van for a scenic drive along the lake Llanquihue to our base in Ensenada (40 min). The first contact with the raft is during a complete safety talk under the shade. Then we get geared up and drive 5 more minutes to reach the put in of the Petrohue river. We are in N P Vicente Perez Rosales, the first park founded in Chile in 1926.
The river flows out from Lake Todos Los Santos and makes its way to Reloncavi fjord surrounded by snow-capped volcanoes such as Osorno, Calbuco, and the antique chimney of Puntiagudo. We put in on a calm section where we can practice our strokes before getting into the action with the first rapid called “Ciao Seco” (goodbye to dry) from here these are 13 kilometers of continuous fun-filled class III and IV rapids like the tricky “Ese”, “Los Pollos”, “Queso Suizo” and “El Nadador” in-between many more.
We enjoy great places where to stop, climb on the cliffs and jump into this clear water. After 2 hours of this treatment, we reach our take out and the changing rooms before heading back to the base for a pisco sour, some snacks, and share the memories of this ride. A kayaker accompanies us and shoots pictures that we will be sent to your email afterward. Return to your hotel.
