Waterfall Rappel in Horto Tijuca National Park
Leave the Botanical Garden and stroll through the Tijuca National Park via the Dona Castorina Road, which leads to the trail that takes you to the base of the Horto waterfalls. This area is rich in history dating back to the time of the Portuguese Crown Empire in Brazil. After crossing a few natural wells, the walk takes 15 minutes to reach the Chuveiro waterfall using both hands and feet.
We pause at the Chuveiro waterfall to take pictures before ascending to the waterfall’s mouth to begin rappelling down it. There are 12 meters of sheer adventure, and anyone who is even moderately fit may complete the activity.
