Rio de Janeiro, Salvador de Bahia & Fernando de Noronha!

A tour that combines the visit of Rio de Janeiro with other two great destinations in Brazil like Salvador de Bahia and Fernando de Noronha. Of course, the tour starts in Rio de Janeiro, but it can be modified if you want. Rio is the gate to the culture of Brazil, with the warm of the local people, the Samba, the Carnival, and unique icons overlooking Guanabara Bay: The Sugar Loaf and the Corcovado Hill with the Christ the Redeemer. This statue was declared recently as one of the new 7 wonders of nature. Discover the Maracana Stadium, the Sambodromo, and the famous beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon. Next stop is linked to the origins of the portuguese empire in America. Yes, because Salvador, capital of Bahia State, is the first colonial city in Brazil, full of culture and color. Enjoy the Pelourinho and discover the mixed artial mart with dance, the unique Capoeira. After visiting Salvador, we will fly to a paradise, to enjoy diving, and other ecotourism activities in Fernando de Noronha.

Itinerary

Day 1

RIO DE JANEIRO

Arrive at Rio de Janeiro airport and transfer to your hotel. Rio de Janeiro was founded in 1565 and it´s one of the most incredible cities you can visit in South America. The warmth of its people, the colorful culture, the incredible beaches, and the landscapes, makes Rio a must-see on your trip to South America. After arrival at the hotel, free time to rest. If you are an active person and arrived early, you can choose any of the following activities available. Take a look at the list below

Day 2

RIO DE JANEIRO: City Tour with Sugar Loaf

After breakfast, and in the morning, we will start our first visit to the incredible Cidade Maravilhosa, in Portuguese Wonderful City. Tour starts with unique panoramic views of the beaches. One of the first stops is the Metropolitan Cathedral, where we will stop for some good photos and learn a bit more about the history of the city. Then, we will go directly to take the cable car to enjoy the Sugar Loaf, an icon of the city. Be ready with your camera to take unique panoramic landscapes of Guanabara Bay and surrounding beaches. You also can see Niteroi and Santa Cruz Fortress from there, and the local beaches of Botafogo and Flamengo. After enjoying the hill for about 45 minutes, we will continue with our trip. We will cross the Santa Barbara tunnel, to see downtown Rio and then go directly to the Sambodromo, a special place that holds the Carnival, the most important event in Rio every year.

Return to our hotel and free time for lunch. It´s a half-day excursion, so you can choose any of the activities listed below to enjoy the afternoon and evening in Rio de Janeiro.

Day 3

RIO DE JANEIRO: Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer

After breakfast, we will start our second visit to Rio de Janeiro. The main attraction is the incredible Christ the Redeemer Statue, declared recently as one of the new seven wonders of the world. It´s located at the top of the Corcovado mountain, which was named for its shape, due to its narrow summit. The statue of Christ the Redeemer was built in 1926 and was a really big challenge for the engineers. It is the most popular attraction of Corcovado mountain and one of the must-sees in Rio de Janeiro. Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer bring over 300,000 visitors every year. From the peak’s platform, the panoramic view includes downtown Rio, as well as the south area. Be ready to take excellent photos from there

After visiting the statue, we will continue our tour to visit Tijuca Forest. It is a natural boundary that splits the city in two. The park has over 3000 species of plants, and hundreds of bird types, and great biodiversity. Without the park, the city temperature would probably increase around two degrees celsius. In general, the tour includes a visit to Corcovado mountain, the statue of Christ the Redeemer, the Tijuca Forest, the Chinese View, the Taunay`s Waterfalls, and the Visitor Center.

Return to your hotel and free time for lunch. Again, it´s a half-day trip so you can enjoy the beach on your own, or maybe add some of our optional tours and enjoy Rio de Janeiro during the afternoon and also in the evening with some interesting dinners and shows.

Day 4

RIO DE JANEIRO: Good bye cidade maravilhosa!

After breakfast, free time until your transfer to the airport. If your flight leaves in the afternoon or also in the evening, you can add some interesting optional activities from the list below.

SALVADOR DE BAHIA: Arrival to Bahia!

Arrival to Salvador de Bahia, one of the most important cities in Brazil, and the first colonial city in the country. Brazil’s first capital preserves an important historical city center, listed as Unesco’s Cultural Heritage Site: the Pelourinho, which gives the visitor the opportunity to visit Brazilian Baroque Churches and century-old manors. There are more than 300 churches in Salvador. One of them is São Francisco Church, recognized by its grandiosity. You will discover the Capoeira, that`s a martial art that looks like a dance. The city is also the location of one of the country’s most vibrant and disputed carnival parties. After arrival, transfer to your hotel and free time. If you want, you can take any of the optional activities below.

Day 5

SALVADOR DE BAHIA: Visiting the city

After breakfast, we will start the visit to the city. After pick up, we will start visiting Farol da Barra, one of the most beautiful scenery in Salvador and where one of the best carnival in the country starts.  Then we will go to the historic center, where we will visit Pelourinho and take a walk through one of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Be ready to take many photos, it`s a very colorful place. After some free time for lunch, we will visit the lower city to see the Lacerda Elevator, tie your ribbon at Bonfim Church and take a little bit of Bahia to your home when visiting the Mercado Modelo.  It`s a half day tour. Return to the hotel and free time. You can choose from options available in our optional list

 

Day 6

SALVADOR DE BAHIA: Choose from many options!

After breakfast, free time to enjoy the city at your own, or choose any of the activities available. Check our list below, you can visit Morro do Sao Paulo, Chapada Diamantina, or take a boat navigation to the tropical islands and Itaparica. There are many options available in our list below

Day 7

SALVADOR DE BAHIA: Good bye Salvador!

After breakfast, free time until transfer to airport. If you have some free time before leaving the city, you can choose any of the alternative activities available below.

FERNANDO DE NORONHA: Arrival to the paradise

Arrival to Fernando de Noronha, a paradise of indescribable beauty, that was declared a Natural World Heritage Site by Unesco. For the islands to continue to preserve their nature, the number of visitors is limited and you have to pay an environmental preservation fee to enter the island. The combination of crystal clear waters, golden sands, and marine life fascinate people from all over the world. Its beaches are divided between the inside sea (waters toward the Brazilian mainland) and the outside sea (waters toward the Atlantic Ocean). It is very common to see these waters in the lists of the most beautiful beaches of Brazil and the world, such as the beaches Praia dos Porcos, Praia dos Leões, and Baía do Sancho. Noronha is also one of the best places for diving. Its clear and warm waters provide excellent visibility, being possible to observe its splendid marine life of corals, dolphins, turtles, and sharks. It is possible to practice scuba diving, guided by certified local instructors.Another sport practiced on the island is surfing. Between December and February, Fernando de Noronha welcomes surfers from everywhere ready to put their boards offshore and face huge tubes, swells, and waves reaching up to 5 meters. The best beaches for practicing surfing are: Cacimba do Padre, Boldró, and Conceição.

FERNANDO DE NORONHA: The Atalaia and Praia do Leao

After breakfast, we will start our first visit to this incredible natural place. We will go to Atalaia to see the natural pools and then how to dive in the Baía de Sueste to see sea turtles. Then we will explain you how to reach Praia do Leao, where you can relax and swim. In the evening, go to Praia do Boldró to see the sunset. Return to the city and overnight.

Day 9

FERNANDO DE NOROHNA: Choose from many optional activities available

After breakfast, free time. You can choose from many available activities to see dolphins, or take a diving day. Check the list below and choose the option you want!

Day 10

FERNANDO DE NORONHA: Good bye!

After breakfast, free time until tranfser to airport. If you have some free time, you can choose any of the optional activities available below.
