Amazing 11-night program to enjoy the best of Peru and Bolivia. The program includes the visit to the capital city of Peru: Lima. Enjoy Miraflores and San Isidro neighborhoods, the Larco  Museum and exquisite local cuisine and the pisco! Then, we will go to Cusco, to enjoy more about the inca culture, mixed with the colonial style of the first capital of Peru. Then, we will visit the incredible citadel of Machu Picchu, and enjoy the green terraces, the mountains and the surrounded landscape. Then, we will go to Puno, gate to visit Titicaca Lake. We enjoy Uros and Taquile Islands. Then, we cross to La Paz, visiting cochabamba and Isla del sol. Finally, we will fly to Uyuni to visit the incredible Uyuni Salt Flat.

Day 1

LIMA: Arrival to the capital city

Welcome to Lima, welcome to Peru! After arrival to international airport, tranfser to your hotel. You have free time to enjoy the city at your own, or take any of the optional activities available. Check our list below.

Day 2

LIMA: city tour and Larco Museum

After breakfast, we will start the visit to the modern and colonial part of Lima, called the city of the Kings. We will start with the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, where you will make a panoramic visit of the impressive Huaca Huallamarca. Then, we will go directly to the Historical Center, to visit the Convent of Santo Domingo, declared UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity and where the remains of our patron saints San Martín de Porres and Santa Rosa de Lima lie. Then, we will go to visit the Plaza Mayor, which is surrounded by the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Municipality and the Cathedral. Finally, we will make a stop for a small tasting of the typical Pisco Sour!  After the tour, we will visit the Larco Museum, which houses the unsurpassed private collection of Treasures of Ancient Peru. This collection inspires the visitors, to discover and  understand more than 5000 years of history of Ancient Peru through more than 45,000 pieces! Amazing isn`t it?

Then, return to the hotel and free time. You can add any of the optional activities available below.

Day 3

LIMA: good bye!

After breakfast, free time until transfer to the airport. Please take a look at our options below, if you have time enough, you can add some of these activities to your visit today.

CUSCO: Arrival and visit the city

After arrival, check in in your hotel in Cusco. If you arrived in the morning, some free time to rest. Then, we will start a half day visit to the incredible city of Cusco. We will enjoy some incredible places in this ancient city: Korikancha Temple, the local Cathedral, Sacsayhuamán, Kenko and Puca-Pucará ruins.
It`s a visit to the imperial city, a living example of the mix of Andean and Spanish culture in the Americas. The tour begins at the Koricancha Temple, the ancient Inca palace and main center for the worship of the Sun God. Be ready to take some great photos of this incredible place.  Then, you will visit the Plaza de Armas, where you will visit the Cathedral. Make a stop at the Mirador San Cristóbal, from where you will enjoy a beautiful view of the city. Continue ascending to the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, an imposing example of Inca military architecture that dominates the city. Then, you will visit the archaeological sites of Kenko, enjoy the panoramic view of the Puca-Pucara archaeological complex. Finally, you will visit the Inka’s Expression art workshop, which presents artists working in silver, paint and wood; ideal visit to understand Andean art.

Return to the hotel and free time to rest. Overnight.

Day 4

CUSCO-SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS: Ollantaytambo and Racchi

After breakfast, we will start our second day of visits in the area. We will start visiting Chinchero, a small and picturesque town that houses an important Inca archaeological center built at the end of the 15th century, as well as a beautiful and traditional church. Free time to enjoy this unique place. Then, on the way to Ollantaytambo, we will stop at the Racchi viewpoint, where you will have some of the best views of the Sacred Valley. Amazing! Free time for lunch. You can taste some typical dishes of the Sacred Valley and taste a pisco!. Continue to Ollantaytambo, one of the most representative architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire and one of the few places where the Spanish conquerors lost an important battle. Well known for its platforms, Ollantaytambo was a very effective fortress that also served as a temple. Finally, continue to the town of Ollantaytambo, known as “the only living Inca city”; It is the best existing example of Inca urban planning, with stone streets that have been inhabited since the 12th century.
Overnight is in the Sacred Valley today.

Day 5

SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU: Visiting a unique place on earth

After breakfast, we will start one of the most incredible visits you can do in Peru and South America. We will visit Machu Picchu

Early in the morning and after breakfast, we will transfer you to the train station. Be ready today, to visit one of the world’s most famous landmarks: the citadel of Machu Picchu. The excursion begins on board the train to approximate to the area of Aguas Calientes.  Upon your arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will begin your ascent to Machu Picchu, where, surely, you will live one of the most unforgettable experiences you can have in South America. Once there, you can walk through every corner of one of the Seven Wonders of the world, accompanied by an expert guide, and enjoy free time to explore the area. At the appropriate time, you will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes and later board the return train to Cusco, via the Ollantaytambo station. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and overnight

Day 6

CUSCO: Good bye Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu!

After breakfast, free time until transfer to bus station or airport.

CUSCO to PUNO: the incredible route to Puno

After breakfast, transfer to the bus station to start a trip to Puno. On the way you will enjoy the wonderful landscapes of the Southern Valley of Cusco. First visit Andahuaylillas, where you will find a beautiful church of the XXVII century, with an impressive organ decorated with angels and cherubs. Then you will visit the ruins of Racchi – also known as “The Temple of the Wiracocha God” – those that have different areas that were used for different purposes. At the end of this visit, you will enjoy a delicious and typical lunch buffet at a local restaurant. After this you will know the archaeological site of Puca-Pucara, a military construction that also functioned as an administrative center. Arrival to Puno and transfer to your hotel

Day 7

TITICACA LAKE: Visiting Uros and Taquile Islands

After breakfast, and in the morning we will enjoy a tour to visit the unique Titicaca Lake. We will go to Taquile Island, where the community kindly welcomes tourists, keeping alive their traditions, customs, and colorful clothing in the old-fashioned style. The islanders are skilled artisans and capture in each work surprising techniques developed over centuries by their ancestors. Then visit the floating islands of the Uros, also called the Town of the Lake, because these islands are built with layers of totora and serve as homes and trading centers for the natives of the same name who are mobilized in rafts built by hand.

The Titicaca Lake is a large and deep lake in the Andes, and the highest navigable lake in the world.

 

 

Day 8

PUNO: Good bye Puno!

After breakfast, free time until transfer to airport, or bus station.

PUNO to LA PAZ

After breakfast, and early in the morning transfer by road to the Sanctuary of Copacabana to board the catamaran cruise, sailing, enjoying a snack on board, to the Isla del Sol cradle of the Inca Empire. In this legendary island we visit the Garden, the Stairs and the Fountain of the Inca, later the itinerary includes the visit to the Inti Wata Cultural Complex, the main private tourist attraction of Bolivia, it includes the underground museum of the Ekako, the centers of traditional medicine and of construction of totora rafts, the Pachamama terraces of Inca agriculture, an artisan center, the Intica refuge and the largest variety of Andean camelids located in the Manco Kapac viewpoint. The visit to the Inti Wata Complex also includes navigation aboard an immense raft typical of Totora and the panoramic visit of the Inca palace of Pilkokaina. Afterwards, the catamaran is again boarded, sailing towards Copacabana enjoying a buffet lunch on board. In Copacabana the bus will be taken for the transfer by road to the city of La Paz.

Day 9

LA PAZ: City Tour

After breakfast, we start a four-hour walking tour through La Paz, a city chosen as one of the 7 wonderful cities in the world, located in a valley formed at the foot of the Real de los Andes mountain range at 3632 m above sea level. Visit the area of markets in the streets rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft artifacts. Visit the colonial part of the city, the San Francisco church, the Gold museum, Murillo square, the “Killi Killi” viewpoint from where you have a magnificent view of the city and the replica of the semi-subterranean temple of Tiwanaku. Then to the modern part of the city, down to 3,200 m to finally visit the Valley of the Moon, impressive for its capricious formations made by erosion. The cable car tour will be a good opportunity to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz. This is a mandatory tour for all visitors in La Paz!

 

 

Day 10

LA PAZ to UYUNI: Transfer to Uyuni

After breakfast, tranfser to airport in La Paz to take flight to Uyuni. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Free time and overnight.

Day 11

UYUNI SALT FLATS

After breakfast, departure to the great Salt flats; visit the Train Cemetery on the way, where the remains of steam locomotives of the 19th and 20th century are located; Stop at Colchani, this is the best place to observe salt extraction methods; then, to Incahuasi Island (known as Isla Pescado), it is an oasis with a unique and isolated ecosystem populated by giant cacti up to 10 meters high. The trip continues north to visit the pre-Columbian fort of Pucara de Ayque and the nearby chullpares, both on the slopes of the Thunupa volcano. And finally, at an appropriate time, return to the town of Uyuni.
